Please help I am a single mother of 2 kids, one boy who is 13 and a girl who is 14 I am 39 years old and need desperate help. I feel my son hates me he's been more distant and avoiding me, he is 13 and I feel like we are growing apart. I love him dearly but my income is not a lot so I can't afford to take him out to do the things he wants to do, does anyone have any ideas I can do with him to get closer?

What sort of things does he want to do @AmandaKris?

He likes doing things like ice skating and Go Karting. I took him to both of them once for a fun time but I haven't been able to do them again because money's tight and Petrol costs to much so budgets even tighter cause i have to drive to and from work. I really am lost on what to do.

What about cooking? This holiday my 13 year old has asked to make chilli and bolognese. He’s never shown an interest before. He also really likes to make flapjacks for energy for his sports and smoothies.

Crazy/Mini golf is a good one but appreciate it can be expensive.

We also have a jigsaw on the go during holidays. He will moan and groan about puzzles being boring but he does get involved with the rest of us.
