My toddler is 22 months old, he started to say Mama and Dada around 11 months until he was about 15 months old.
At 15 months old he started to get recurrent ear infections and Tonsiltis on top of general illness from Nursery. He is only in nursery a few days a week short hours. But has barely been in due to illness.
I had to push for his referral to ENT, when we finally got an appointment they said it was glue ear and to try anti-biotics. The antibiotics didn’t work and he had some bad side effects.
He has had 3 cases of tonsiltis in 6 weeks.
He has screamed every night for the past few months, I managed to get another ENT appointment and they have referred him for grommet surgery. They want to monitor his adenoids and tonsils in his sleep.
The screaming has been non stop for months. It kills me to see my baby in pain.
I have also just lost my Nan who was like my mum and I’m starting to feel really run down with the loss and constant screaming.
Does anyone have any advice on the constant screaming to relieve his ear pressure? Or how to get the grommet surgery any faster? Or any good stories on improvement of infections and of speech after grommet surgery?
