My little one is 3 next month. He has always been very tactile and gentle with other children. He started nursery 6 months ago and was grabbed / scratched very badly on his face by another child on his second week. He drew blood on both sides of his face but was fine.
His cousins have often been quite boistress with him and probably around January I remember getting fed up at they often push, shove him and in the end I said if they do that to you, do it back! Stick up for yourself. I don't know if I agree with saying this to your child but it's hard to watch your toddler constantly in this scenario.
Anyway, I've been told by the nursery this week that his behaviour has not been great, he's been 'rough', hitting and throwing etc and basically not listening. Well he's never been a great listener and I do have to repeat myself but hearing that he's been rough really upsets me.
He only goes to nursery 2.5 days a week but I've told him he is not to hit or throw and it's really upset me to hear he's been doing this. He agrees but whether he will stop I don't know!?
Is this a phase? I'm so upset by it as it's so not like him. I've always been so proud of his personality and nature. Maybe he took my comment on board but sounds like he's hitting and throwing for no reason which is not on.
Im also due my second baby next month so really hoping this behaviour doesn't continue.
