I really need some advise on ADHD and behaviour. My 12 year old stepdaughter has apparently got ADHD.She is refusing to take her medication even after only 2 weeks of being prescribed it ..She says it makes her feel "weird" She lives with her mum and me and my partner have her at weekends. She has been caught stealing my vape, she constantly swears at her mum telling her to F**k off, and hits and kicks her mum (my partner has witnessed this) .I just feel that she is just being naughty and getting away with it and using ADHD as an excuse. She also says she is being bullied at school but teachers report that it is her that hits other kids for no reason..She says that kids call her fat, but she can eat alot and if her mum doest buy her takeaway and chocolate She refuses to walk anywhere demanding her mum is her taxi service that's when she hits out at her mum..she says her mum neglects her as she is left home alone for 1 hour till her mum gets home from work..but is quite happy to be home alone for the a couple of days at a time when she refuses to go to school, spending the day on tik tok .Is this ADHD behaviour..???

Has she really got ADHD? I haven’t read a more ableist post in years. I feel for the poor girl.

What exactly do you think prompted her to be assessed and why would she be diagnosed if she were just a bit naughty?
