No separation anxiety at 1 year – should I be concerned?

Hello, how old was your baby when they started crying for you when you left the room or, for example, when a stranger took them?
Our baby is 1 year old, but doesn’t cry for us, and doesn’t even cry when someone else takes them (they look at the person strangely and wonder who they are, but quickly stop paying attention).
In general, when their father comes home from work, the baby also doesn’t react excitedly.
Our pediatrician told us that by now the baby should be crying for us… this worries me a bit.

I would say it was unusual. Did the Paediatrician say that they would see LO again soon?

Did they ask you to fill in the 12 month Social & Emotional Ages & Stages?

No, they don’t see anything concerning, because the child has eye contact and points with a finger to indicate what they want. We haven’t done that questionnaire.

In the UK you don’t see a Paediatrician at 12 months but you do see the Health Visitor does do a check and asks you to fill in the 12 Month Ages & Stages.

As you’re concerned enough to post on here, I think I would fill it in and see how LO scores Smile
