Lately my son 8yrs, has been calling other kids names when he gets frustrated, names such as “idiot” “stupid” and “little brat”
We have never, nor will we ever call our children horrid names like that. I’m not sure whether he has heard stuff like this on American TV or PG films. We also let him watch Harry Potter films.
At this point that’s not my concern - of course will be watching what he is exposed to.
He is a very loving child, very affectionate and caring for other people, but now and again, when he is in a foul mood, he will say stuff like “shut up” or “stupid idiot”
I have spoken to him so so many times about how much this will affect how people interact with him, and how it’s not like him. He will absolutely not listen and it keeps happening and no consequences seem to concern him, he continues to say stuff like this. Maybe this wouldn’t bother some people, but it is so against his warm nature. We aren’t really a family that would cuss someone out or call people names. Has anyone gone through this or dealt with this and had a breakthrough ?
