Hi,
Posting on here as all relevant information seems to be on Mumsnet!
A bit of background, after a difficult pregnancy and attempts on conception, my daughter was born extremely premature @ 28 weeks and a tiny weight of >650g, putting her below the 0.1% percentile.
It's been a journey with her (especially food aversion!) but developmentally she's either at or above her peers depending on what's being measured.
Due to this, and her being in the 0.4% percentile of everything we have an assigned Pediatrician and dietitian since bringing her home.
We know she's small, and that she will likely be a petite girl, but what's concerning is that her head size has remained at the exact same size since she was 15 months old (checked monthly). Not a single point of a cm increase any time. She's growing taller, weights been hit and miss (she runs ALOT, has medical high calorie foods and milks + home made balanced meals). The soft spot on her head has closed but we've been told this is normal.
We've been asking for an MRI scan to take the next steps but the drs want to wait another 3 months for review. This has me very worried but we just feel fobbed off. I feel the more we leave it the more we risk introducing developmental problems.
I guess I'm after other people's real-life experiences to make myself either feel better or give me ideas on the direction we need to push with the Drs. I don't care if I'm paying specialists.
Thanks for reading.
