At 3 Months my baby used to ‘ chat’ back and forth with coo sounds and do a wee giggle sometimes
now he still makes noises but not back and forth and doesn’t laugh anymore
he still smiles and now grasps things and eats his hand
worried about the lack of reciprcaol coo though ? And lack of laughing now ??

Is there a new skill that they’re working on? It’s quite normal for a baby to essentially park one skill whilst they work on another.

@BunnyRuddington oh really im
not sure - he is grabbing and holding things more
but now seems to do s growl all the time like he is frustrated ! Just not so much coo and ahhs anymore . Can they just loose skills? Just so worried about his communication

How long is it since he did the reciprocal cooing? I really do think this is normal though and not losing a skill. It really could be anything causing it from teething, to bellyache to working on a new skill.

If you’re worried though you could fill out the 4 month Ages & Stages. Bear in mind that this assessment too takes you up to 5 months avd a lot can change in 6 weeks with a baby and also, they’re not expected to score in the white in every section. Scoring in the grey in one or two sections is totally normal Smile
