FTM unsure if 7 month old is a bit behind?

I’m a FTM to an almost 7mo. She has always hated tummy time since day one, she didn’t have reflux but would scream and cry during tummy time (still does but can now roll out of it too!) after a few minutes. I’ve always done tummy time with her but probably less than other babies because she hates it so much.

She can roll back to front but mainly over her left shoulder, only seen over her right shoulder a hand full of times, I keep encouraging her to move to the right but she’s having none of it unless I start the roll for her! She can roll front to back both ways. She can push up on her forearms but refuses to push up on extended arms with her hands. Again, I’ve tried doing wheelbarrow exercises with her and she just cries and puts her head on the floor. She’s just started to slowly pivot in a fashion on her belly but only for a phone, the baby toys don’t cut it! She can sit up unsupported really well for a good amount of time and bears weight on her legs very well too.

My concern is the reluctance to roll right on her own accord and the fact she won’t/can’t push up on her hands. I might be overthinking things but I’m worried she’ll fall behind in her gross motor skills and won’t learn to crawl etc.

Any other Mum’s who’ve had babies like mine, please give me some encouragement! 😂

I should add she’s a chunky 20lb as she’s just about to turn 7 months. I don’t know if weight makes a difference to her ability to move 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes weight will definitely make a difference and she’s likely to slim a bit when she does become more mobile.

If you want to help her with her core strength, have you tried swimming? You can also do tummy time on your knee, if she’s still small enough. Mine really didn’t like being in the floor but would be better on my knee.

If you are a bit concerned you could always do the 8 month Ages & Stages. Bear in mind though that she’s at the beginning of the age range for that assessment and she’s not supposed to be achieving everything in there. A score in the grey in one or two areas is perfectly acceptable.
