Books to promote self-esteem in little girls?

Does anyone have any suggestions for books I can read about promoting little girls' self-esteem in this patriarchal and misogynistic culture we live in? Should I now duck and wait for the rocks to fly?

What age child? There are lots and lots of books that focus on strong/intersting/brave/funny/independent girls.
