Finds school sports frustrating and told off

Hi,

Would you raise this?

DS7 came home really upset from school. He said the new deputy head was running the PE lesson. For context he absolutely loves sports but finds school PE frustrating..He was told if you do THAT again you'll get time out. He doesn't know what THAT was. So he said he just stopped playing so much to avoid doing anything wrong.

Generally he said school PE is boringa and frustrating its very simple and they let people not play by the rules. I have explained we're all good at different things and some will be good at PE later ie some kids are ahead at reading and they need to be patient etc.. But I do think its a shame he's not able to enjoy his favourite subject at school.

Would you raise any of this and if so how? Anyone had a similar experience?

Maybe try and make more emphasis of the sports he likes outside school. My daughter did ballet and tap from age 3 but she was never picked for anything related to that at school. Teachers are funny beings and the kids who end up getting more attention know how to get it.

Thanks. I spoke to them. It turned out he had got into an argument and basically they thought it was the best thing to separate them. So it wasnt really the way he was playing sport.

Though your point still applies :)
