My 11 week old is so unhappy all day after she wakes up from her first nap and if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!
She sleeps about 11 hours overnight (she occasionally wakes up but is fine and settles herself after I put her dummy back in), and wakes up super happy. I usually feed her, change her, and play with her until she starts having sleepy cues, like rubbing her eyes and yawning, usually after about 90 minutes. We then go for a walk and she falls asleep. When she wakes up, she just seems to hate everything and nothing I do seems to help. I can’t put her down anywhere for more than 5 minutes unless I’m actively entertaining her. Even then I can only keep her occupied for about 20 mins. She screams even if I’m holding and rocking her. We go to baby classes, and she’ll calm down when we’re doing songs or something similar, but as soon as there’s the slightest break she starts crying again. She’s formula fed (I was unable to breastfeed) and we use infacol as when she was smaller she used to scream in pain when passing wind. Before her first nap, she can lie on her mat and entertain herself for a while if I need to do anything (shower, wash bottles 😂), and only really cries if she needs something.
My mum and MIL have both said none of their babies cried like my daughter does - I haven’t got any friends with babies. Is this normal? I don’t understand why she’s happy until the first nap. I contact nap with her if she’s still tired when we get home from her walk, and her nap varies between 1-3 hours. She doesn’t seem sleepy when she wakes up.
I’d seriously appreciate any advice! I know some babies cry more than others, but she just seems so unhappy.
