Parents of children with autism, what signs did you spot when they were around six months/earlier?
My six month old is high needs - I’m wondering if he may be on the spectrum.
Thanks :-)

I think it was things like not making many sounds, apart from crying, and not really making any gestures.

If you’re worried about ASD, have you filled in the 6 months Social & Emotional Ages & Stages?

Hmm. My son is 6 months - he doesn’f gesture at all. He makes some noise, but its not really babbling, more repeatative moaning - very difficult to keep entertained. Smiles at people and laughs and finds his older brother funny. He is rolling over, but not able to sit unsupported. Do you have any other things to look out for? Did things change closer to seven/eight months?

Every baby develops at their own pace, so it's really hard to tell at six months. If you're concerned, it's worth mentioning it to your health visitor, but hopefully you'll get a clearer picture over the next few months.
