Ideas to keep 3-month old entertained at home

Hi everyone,
Just looking for some advice or ideas really - I’m at home with my almost 3-month-old DD and looking for ways to keep her a bit more entertained during the day.

She tends to stay awake for most of the day and sleeps well at night, which is great, but it means I’m trying to find things to keep her stimulated and happy between feeds. I’ve got some picture books we read together and an activity gym with dangling toys, which she enjoys for about 10–15 minutes at a time, but then seems to get bored.

We go out for walks most days and I’m planning to sign up for some baby groups soon, but I’m mainly after ideas for simple activities we can do at home during the day. What kinds of things do your little ones enjoy around this age?

Thanks in advance!

I honestly don’t think you need to do much. I had two that didn’t nap much too, I think people watching is great so just go and get yourself a coffee from time to time and let her watch the world go by and take her to the supermarket make the most of her not moving and not having to do baby centric things. Mine were Velcro babies so just hung out in the carrier while I did laundry and cleaning. It’s a good work out squatting with a baby attached too.

My very nosy children enjoyed getting out and about at that age, just errands or a walk or meeting someone at a café. At home, a lot of narration or singing from me as I did chores. They were also getting better at holding a toy, so some different actual baby toys, plus various baby-safe household objects. I had some different things in each room so there was always something to hand and it kept a bit of novelty. Our library also has a good selection of board books to mix that up a bit (for you, if not for her!).
