Baby not rolling from back to tummy at almost 7 months old, should I be concerned?

Hey, my son will be 7 months this week and isn't rolling from back to tummy yet. He mastered rolling from tummy to back at around 5.5 months (although tends to roll to his left as he finds that easier), but won't roll from his back to tummy. He will roll on his side but then doesn't go any further. He's hitting all his other milestones and by all accounts is very strong. He's in the the 99 centile for height and weight, so I didn't know if this might make it slighter harder for him to roll as he is very broad and long. Should I be concerned at this point? Thanks!

Rolling is quite a variable one – some babies do a lot of it and use it get around. Others are just not bothered. My first was cruising the furniture before she rolled back to tummy. No issues, just her focus was on sitting, and then on walking.

So if your son is doing other gross motor skills (pushing up during tummy time, sitting up, able to weight bear standing up if you balance him, perhaps showing signs of crawling/army crawling/similar) then I wouldn't worry just yet.

I couldn’t even tell you which direction my 7 month old has even rolled in because it’s happened about 5 times total. So don’t stress!
