Hi,

my baby is 5 weeks old and sleeps with their mouth open should I be concerned?

My baby is also 5 weeks and sometimes sleeps with his mouth open. I think as long as they are breathing through their nose even with their mouth open then it's fine (I put my finger under his nose and can tell that's where he is breathing from. I also gently close his mouth for him and he continues breathing so I know it's coming through his nostrils). Can you tell if your baby is breathing through their mouth or nose? You could always mention it to your HV if you're worried.
