First time posting here. Really would appreciate any help or experience from other Mamas out there.
I write this sat here looking at my 3 month old daughter in hospital with Bronchitis/ chest infection.
So she wasnt a great feeder before getting ill. She's exclusively bottle fed with Aptamil pepti 1 ( poss milk intolerance) . But she would suck and take about 2 oz every 2 hours.
4 days ago shes caught a bug from her older brother, and we have ended up in hospital due to her distressed breathing. Now up untill that same first night in hospital she was suckin on a bottle- yes very reduced feeding- BUT she was sucking.
They NG tubed her and fed her through that. On day 3, we have started to introduce the bottle again. She simple wont suck. Not even for a second. She plays with it.. dribbles the milk out, wont swallow Calpol with fussing and crying.
I am sooo concerned that shes got bottle aversion. BUT I cant understand how so soon.
She has had a traumatic experience with projectile vomiting, suction through her nose and mouth.
She has never taken a dummy- iv purchased every size and shape.
I just need someone to tell me she will take a bottle again. But i cant seem to see that happening.
Or anytips on how to get her back to sucking.
Anyone been in the same situation.
