Autistic daughter avoids the living room

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone else has this with their autistic child:

My daughter has just turned 5, and was diagnosed with Autism when she was 2. I suspect she has ADHD aswell, and we're waiting to hear about a referral to the paediatrician, as she's not seen one since she recieved her ASD diagnosis.

She tends to go through phases of behaviour (e.g she's just come out of a 3 month phase of constantly dribbling and spitting everywhere. Another was constantly screaming for about a month). The current phase she's now going through is that she won't step foot in the living room. This has actually been going on for around 4 months now, so she was doing it alongside the dribbling and spitting.
She'll stand in the doorway, but won't actually step foot in the room.
Nothing has changed in the living room at all, so I don't really know why she's suddenly refusing to go in there, she had been fine going in there until one day she suddenly didn't want to.
Speech-wise, she's kind of at a stage where she's starting to use words to communicate, but she can't really tell us exactly why she won't go in there.

Does anyone else's ASD children refuse to go in certain rooms of the house? And if so, did you ever manage to find out why?

I've not experienced this one sorry. I woukd ask @MNHQ to move this over to the SN Section though as you're likely to get more responses in there Flowers

Thank you! I'll look into doing that ☺
