Hello,

My daughter is 21 months old, she is unable to get herself up to stand unaided and cannot walk unaided. She has to hold both of my hands to walk and when she does she walks on the inside of her right foot.
The health visitor saw her 6 weeks ago and said if it carries on to get back in touch. I have tried to but cannot get through to her.

I was just wondering if anyone else's toddler has had this? I know everyone says not to worry but I am finding it difficult, especially as I still have to carry her and she is heavy.
Thank you.

I'm surprised the HV had adopted the "wait and see" approach as the NHS say to seek advice if baby isn't walking by 18 months.

I would book an appointment with your GP and ask fir a referral to a Paediatrician Flowers

I'd get straight to the GP.
I know they like to look into things if baby isn't walking by 18 months but not pulling to stand at 21 months should have had the HV seeking a referral.

Hope that you manage to get into the GP today @Okaypepper Flowers

Her dad used to walk on the side of his foot so the HV said it could be genetic but her dad was walking by 15 months.

Thank you, we have an appointment this afternoon.

She can pull up to stand and walks along holding the sofa but if I stand her up and let go she falls. She is also unable to get herself up to stand with nothing to grab on to.

Thank you, we have an appointment this afternoon.

Okaypepper · 05/12/2024 20:53

@TinyMouseTheatre GP has referred for physio to see what's going on, thanks for asking!
