DD 7 fear of flying

DD got motion sickness on the last flight we took and increasingly is fearing the discomfort of flying.

Unfortunately we have to take a long haul flight in Oct and she is getting upset at the prospect.

How can I help? Would a GP medicate for sickness? Would I be able to get something to help her sleep (this is her preferred option).

How can I help her mentally prepare?

She is quite anxious and neurotic as it is so this has the risk of developing into a full phobia I fear.

Hi there! You can use Dramamine to help your DD with feeling sick. GP should be able to advise.
I was/am a very nervous flyer and the only thing that helped me was CBT. Although I’m still not great and will need a wine to board the plane. My parents never stopped taking me on vacations and we used to fly almost every month. So exposure to frequent flying really helped. And seeing my mum’s face during turbulence- she absolutely loves it ☺️
good luck OP! It’s a tough one to be honest.
