My 12 yo DD is 8 months into waiting list. We have suspected neurodivergencey for years, her older half-brother has Autism.
she has always been super sensitive amongst lots of other behaviours. She has just finished year 7, secondary school has been a real explosive escalator in her showing symptoms, I have and cintinue to support and understand her but her behaviour has become too much for me to cope with. Late night hyperactivity demanding my full attention, violence and total non-acceptance of her siblings breathing let alone going about their usual business. She screams the house down late at night if heightened. She’s even pulled a kitchen knife on her siblings when she’s angry. I don’t know if this escalation is due to hormone surges…she’s not started her periods yet and seems some way off but I’m starting to wonder what behaviours are truly uncontrollable and what we have allowed due to her suspected neurodivergence. I’m in dire straits
