Using proper cutlery rather than kiddy stuff

Just wondering, at what age do people tend to get their kids to use proper grown-up cutlery rather than scaled down kiddy stuff?

cm uses full size cutlery but i don't think it is very sharp.

dh has agreed to lay off a bit. i think he is a rather too heavy on table manners, i'd rather concentrate on ds actually eating some of the food rather than fussing about how it goes in and how long is spent sitting at the table. plenty of time to deal with that.

DS 3 and DD 18 months both use dessert cutlery, the 18 month old with the most success as she likes to do everything the same as her brother.

With dd, 20 months, I was diligently using plastic or melamine spoons only, plastic bowls, and spouted cups, and sometimes even still helping to spoon stuff in, until I arrived to pick her up from nursery the other day and they were running late with lunch and I noticed she was eating quite happily with a proper metal spoon and fork, off a china plate, with a normal open plastic mug. She moved up to this room from the baby unit two months ago. I have bought some cute scaled-down metal toddler cutlery, but she is prefectly happy with a full-size spoon and fork.

Prob abt 18mnths. We don't give them our best cutlery though, we have a cheap set for the kids which isn't sharp.

and mine don't leave the table in restaurants. It's never been allowed really. They did play up a bit when we went on hol with dp's family, an d we jsut took them outside. They got overexcited wiuth too many people there.
