Baby just wants to crawl at bedtime

Baby has been crawling for a few weeks now, and now when we put her down at night she just wants to crawl and stand up rather than sleep. We used to rock her to sleep then put her down, but now when we do that she wakes up as soon as we put her down and starts crawling and standing. And if we leave the room she screams (so I'm not going to leave her like that). My partner thinks we just need to rock her for longer, but that would be up to half an hour now. I think she just wants to be picked up and rocked, so by doing that each time we're just exacerbating the issue. But then I don't know what else to do either!

This often happens when they learn a new skill like crawling or walking. I can remember it being really hard but it's only temporary. I'd just rock her for a little longer, she'll probably get over it in a week.

You could try wearing her out a bit in the day too? Maybe take her swimming or build a bit of an obstacle course for her to crawl over?
