My Great grandson, at approximately 6 weeks old was very distressed when his mother went out for first time and we looked after him. After his bath and bottle feed he refused to go down, crying and getting really worked up - he was definitely saying Mamma! Crying constantly, Mamma. Until I felt he was getting too distressed and us holding him and walking up and down with him wasn’t easing his crying. I swaddled him and put him firmly in his crib and put my hand on his tummy and spoke firmly to him. He continued crying Mamma for a while. Then longer gaps and with rocking the crib he finally fell asleep. If I hadn’t heard this myself I would never have believed it.
