Baby pulling at nappy/scratching bottom of back

I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that my 12 month old is pulling at the side of her nappy, scratching her bum/back of thigh and bottom of back. Does anyone else’s child do this? She suffers with eczema and there is a little bit of the bottom of her back but not much. She doesn’t have nappy rash.

Could it be the eczema bothering her?

Have you ever found out what's causing it?

I'd also guess it's the eczema bothering her – nappies aren't breathable, and so the warmer weather could well make it irritate her more. Could you try some nappy free time out in the garden, plus extra applications of her eczema cream to that area?
