13 month old on tiptoes which delays walking

Majority of the posts seem to be about toddlers who start tiptoeing out of nowhere. My LO has been a confident crawler and cruiser from 7 months and we thought that she will be therefore an early walker. But as soon as she started pulling up she started standing on her tiptoes. It's now been 6 months (nearly 7) of this and she can be flat footed, she stands unsupported with flat feet but as soon as she tries to take a step it's back to her ballerina stance. This makes her quite unstable and she then falls to crawling. She seems to get upset not being able to walk around.

Really not sure as to what to do. The health visitor is not interested as she's still young apparently. But she's been doing this now for such a long time with no progress..

I don't think that walking is a concern for the HV until they are 18 months but I can understand that being a frustration for you.

How did she do on her 12 month check and did the HV use the Ages & Stages Questionnaire?

We did have that questionnaire when she was 11 months and she passed it.

My worry is that she's had a good 7 months practice and it's not any better. I personally think waiting till 18 months is not ideal as early intervention (if needed) would clearly be better.

I completely agree with you.
