21 month old sensory issues and tip top walking

My 21 month old boy has always been a very demanding baby, cried alot, very very clingy and not good when out with groups/ on play dates (cries a lot, sits on his own). He has ok speech and can gesture communicate what he wants. He loves his mummy and gives nice cuddles. He also plays well with his brothers and says hi to other children. He’s also started tip toe walking, not always but often. Is there a mild version of autism that we should be looking at? How do you measure the spectrum and how can we help him overcome his sensory issues.

The spectrum is just that... a spectrum, it varies so much and in different ways. Does he have a diagnosis/medical input?

Totally agree, irs a spectrum and can present in many different ways.

Have you raised your concerns either your HV yet? I think it's worth filling in the 24 month Social & Emotional Ages & Stages and asking your HV to score it, you can of course score it yourself if you want to.

We know of a typical 22m old boy who tiptoe walks occasionally. His mother and I investigated and tiptoe walking is a part of a normal development.

by the rest, especially as he communicates his wishes to you, is social, and has good speech, no, it’s a high high probability he is neuro-typical.
