Whenever i try to introduce tummy time he cries and totally despises it even if i use something to lift the chest and arms a little higher than the body

Is that normal?

My pediatrician keeps saying that they prefer tummy time in the summer!?!

And he doesn't crawl or try to crawl as well

Should i worry or does anyone has a similar experience?

My little one hated tummy time and would just cry so much. He was also sick every time we did it which impacted his growth as he obviously wasn’t digesting his milk. He learnt how to roll onto his back as soon as we put him on his tummy so he never did tummy time really. We basically stopped even trying to do tummy time for a few weeks.
He’s 13 months now and never crawled. He went straight to walking at 9 months. I believe that crawling has been removed as a milestone recently as babies can do different types of movement/ skip it etc, but it’s still important they learn how to move themselves.
Maybe just try tummy time for really short periods each day, but also give plenty of floor time and opportunities to practice sitting, reaching for things etc. Maybe your baby will learn to shuffle on their bum to move rather than the traditional hands and knees crawling. Maybe he’ll find some other way to get around, but as long as he’s getting plenty of time to be on the floor and reaching he’ll eventually start moving.
