What do you think is the best way to help your child avoid bullying?

I know it's the bully's fault not the victim but there's just so much bulling around, probably always has been!
What kind of kids do bullies target?
Anyone speaking from personal experience would be really interesting to hear from!

The best way to avoid a child bullying or being bullied is to bring them up in a home where they are not bullied and do not witness any bullying between adults. This way they become used to their rights being respected and come to see it as normal to respect other people.

Bullies and people who are bullied often don't have the same innate understanding of boundaries that others have.

This is not foolproof of course. A child can still be bullied if they come from a functioning and happy home. But it is probably the best that can be done.
