Mixed feeding to breastfeeding, weight loss

We had been mixed feeding our baby (7 weeks old today) because of tongue tie that has now been divided and for the past three days have been exclusively breastfeeding.
We weighed him today and his weight is 4.95kg whereas three days ago it was 5.08kg.
We were giving him ebm and formula top ups previously. He's been cluster feeding for the past three days so I'm hoping my milk supply will increase but I'm worried about this weight loss. I'd prefer not to offer him the bottle as it causes nipple confusion and it's not been easy getting him back onto the breast. Plenty of wet and dirty nappies and he feeds every 3-4 hours at night. His latch is good. He's been a bit fussier than normal these days, but it could just be the 6-week growth spurt... Should I be worried our just wait it out?

Firstly weighing at home can be notoriously inaccurate. I'd only get him weighed at the Clinic run by HVs as it's usually done at roughly the sane time of day each time and the scales should be calibrated.

As for stopping the top ups, are you working with a BFC or Lactation Consultant? If not, I'd ring one of the BFing Helplines this morning and talk this through with a BFC.

This article on reducing top ups from Kellymom might help too Flowers
