Help! 20 month old wants to nurse constantly

I'm hoping someone may be able to offer advice regarding my 20 month old. He has always loved breastfeeding, and I had thought that with time he will become less and less interested, and we will naturqlly reduce feeds. However I'm finding the opposite - he is more boob obsessed than ever. He wants to nurse constantly - and if he is around me he becomes extremely clingy and whiny, until he gets fed. If I refuse he gets very upset and becomes even more whiny so it has been very difficult for me to put boundaries in. I want to wean him gently too, which at the moment seems impossible. My husband finds baby's behavior very annoying and blames me for making him into a constant crying whining baby. He (and others) have commented how calm and lovely he is when he is not around me. Husband says as soon as the baby sees me he whines and plays up as he has learned that behavior will get him the boob.... I wonder if anyone has had similar experience.... and what worked for you to wean their toddler? Thank you

I just re-read my post and I don't like how I made baby sound - he is a gorgeous boy who is very lovely and cheeky and a joy... but his intense personality and his persistence for boob is starting to wear down both me and my husband :(

Did you manage to work this out? My 20 month old is a nightmare and I'm not coping

@Kima1. I'm sorry you're struggling. Do you want to tell us a bit more about what's going on?

@Eyebagsforlife I'm sorry that you didn't get any answers to this.
