Hi mummies,

My little one will be turning 11 months next week and over the last little while I am increasing to worry about his development.
He isn’t babbling , no mama dada , just screams and laughs and maybe the “ah ah ah” sounds.

He is just about trying to pull himself up but depends on me, I don’t think he has any interest in crawling , and can’t get himself into the sitting position by himself from laying down.

He is always rocking back and fourth and flaps his little arms about , and about 3 days ago he has started doing this strange eye roll thing?

I feel like only sometimes he responds to his name , I know he isn’t meeting all the milestones and everyone keeps telling me they are all different but he is my first baby and my gut is telling me something just is a little delayed? I have rang my GP this morning and he said he will arrange for the HV to contact me for a visit.

does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? Should I be concerned?

thankyou.

I think if your gut feeling is that he needs looking at and maybe some additional support then you've definitely done the right thing.

Ask the HV to do the 12 month Ages & Stages. You can fill it in before seeing her.

It's pretty normal for them to be in a couple of grey areas. If it's more than that I'd ask for a hearing test, and a referral to SALT. You could also ask for Portage, Physio and an OT.

I know he's not crawling but will he stand if you hold his hands? If not, I think the GP needs to see him to check his hips.

I'd also have a look on the SN Children Section in MN, there are some very supportive MNers in there Flowers
