Tired of the food refusal

Hi everyone, my DS is 16 months and has been going through a super fussy food stage for about 3 months now. He will only eat beige freezer foods and snacks. I've tried to give him what we eat and he just will not have it. I'm trying with fruits and veg every day as well with no luck.
I'm so worried that he's not getting enough nutrition from what he's eating. He was doing well with his foods but he's regressed so much recently. He just will not try anything new.
He is currently suspected autism but it's too early for a diagnosis so that might have something to do with it.
Any advice would be appreciated

Ah if autism is suspected he's probably sticking to his "safe foods".

Has anyone mentioned the possibility of ARFID to you?

I'd post again in SN Children's Section as you are likely to get advice that relates to NT DC and the techniques often don't work with ND DC Flowers

No one has really mentioned anything to me. We are currently working alongside a nursery nurse to encourage his development but that's it. They just say he has a lot of markers for autism but they won't diagnose it before the age of 2 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is it that they won't diagnose or won't refer for assessment? If you've not already been referred is it happening soon?

It might be worth reading up on ARFID too Flowers

I'm not really sure. They just said they need to take certain steps before he gets referred, like the nursery nurse and SALT

Ok so it sounds as though he hasn't been referred for assessment yet. Are you ok the UK @Melissa3003?

Has he had a hearing test since birth abs has he seen SALT yet?

We are in the U.K. and waiting on another hearing test. He passed in one ear and failed the other at birth so it's something we have always kept in the back of our heads. They said to expect an appointment in august but I haven't heard anything else or had my letters through yet

Ok so Glue Ear can present as ASD.

I would contact the HV tomorrow and chase up the hearing appointment.
