Hi my baby girl is 7.5 months old. Her head when she was born was on the 50% centile but now it’s 98%. She is around 91/98 for all the measurements, weight and length.

Do you think her forehead protrudes? Also she has had this V shape since birth, what is it?

Is the V mark a bump or dent, or a coloured mark? If it's just a coloured mark, then it's probably a 'stork bite', a relatively common birthmark and should fade with time.

For head shape, I'm really not sure from a photo. Do you have a health visitor clinic or baby weighing clinic? I'd ask there if you can, they'll be better able to advise if she needs to be seen. The GP did want to see DD1 for a slight bump on the top of her skull, but the conclusion was it's all fine, just her natural head shape.

The v shape is an indent.

No harm in getting her checked out OP.

@Vinery Hi, I just wondered if you ever found out what the v shape indent was? My 10 month old has a similar one!

Vinery · 12/01/2024 20:57

Nope the doc just said that’s just her head.

Hiya! I know this is an old post but I was wondering if your little one grew into her lovely forehead? Mines got the exact same! Drs said no cause for concern but wondering if it'll always be protruding
