14 months old -little bit worried mama here

Hi my baby just turned 14 months few days ago. She is my first born and we love her so so much! She is very active little girl- not walking but crawling and climbing everywhere.

things she does include- spoon feeding herself, stacking 6 plus blocks, plays with toys, pretend play feeding dolls and answering phone, does 15 plus gestures including pointing, babbles dada, brings books and toys to us. She follows simples instructions like “bring this”.

things I am little concerned about- she does not say any words yet other than dada (not even mama🥲), she does not copy any words from us (but copies gestures), she gets along with other babies ok, and the thing that makes me so sad is that she does not comes to us when me or my husband come home!! She just continues to play with the toy. I mean she looks at us and smile but that is it!! :( I think I feel like she is not affectionate towards us!!

any mama other there who has has experience like this? Thank you in advance!!!

She sounds absolutely fine 😊 my DD (now 18 months) started walking at 15 months and only this week started saying mama! Until then it was just dada (the cheek! Haha).

She's obviously just really happy and it's lovely that she turns and smiles when you walk in.

She sounds perfect. I think the fact that she’s pointing at 14 months is very positive. The words will follow.

My first was like this and then he got affectionate. His speech came later than his siblings and other kids. I now feel the first is clueless! 😂

Exactly the same as my son! Hit and miss now at 18 months being excited to see me or his dad! Walking started at 15 months.

My son does speak (80+ words) but he is the only one out of the babies in my local mum group that does - the rest are 15 months months and say only 1-2 words.

Sounds like your one is doing perfect!

She looks a very normal child, actually advanced in some areas.
