So my daughter appears to have started the terrible twos a year early.. she has constant tantrums and I know they are tantrums because she only does it with me (not at the childminders or with her grandparents). So I've started just laying her next to me on the sofa/ bed so she can't hurt herself and ignoring her until she stops. But it lasts sooo long and I wonder if I'm actually doing the right thing

How long are they lasting for @walklikeawoman?

Feels like an eternity but tbh probably only about.. 20 minutes.. then she usually falls asleep

20 minutes is quite long. I ignored DS, although I left him on the floor as I figured that he couldn't fall off the floor if I left the room Wink

My DC1 would come out of a tantrum after a few minutes but DC2 had tantrums that lasted longer and had difficulty coming out of them and wasn't distracted either.

How is she apart from the tantrums?
