My Sen child is sleeping too late and with iPad

My son is 8. Has asd. Normally his bedtime routine is sensory lights and lullabies. I normally lay next to him until he goes to sleep. The past two weeks, he's refused and there's no changing his mind. His father took over and said he can fall asleep watching YouTube 🙈
However there must be another way?? I'd just love my evenings back again. It's the only time I get to myself

Lol about an hour maybe 2. I hate that his dad suggested it.I just don't how to settle him without it. Iv tried reading books, but he isn't interested, and just starts messing about.
I just don't no how to get him to sleep, he's so stubborn. Won't budge x

Difficult isn't it? My DC2 has recently started on Melatonin which is definitely helping.

Was that prescribed? Or can you order online?

It was prescribed. Might be worth asking about it as your evenings currently seem to be affecting the whole family.

DD is more chilled now she's having it as she's actually getting to sleep at a reasonable time Flowers

That's amazing! I will get onto the doctors see if they can prescribe. It does effect the whole house hold. Thanks for your help xx

I contacted the doctors, I have to wait for it to be accepted by peditrition. Same as before, however it got rejected. I'm hoping they will help this time. I can't cope with the lack of sleep much longer. Iv tried everything I can think of and it hasn't worked.
