Hiya, I wanted to ask if you think I should get my child assessed by speech and language.

He's bilingual but chooses to only speak English which is fine with me. He started speaking slightly later than other children but generally developed on time (there were no referrals but he was 2 when it was COVID, so no professional has ever assessed him. We had issues potty training and he still has accident. No signs of autism.

He's busy, likes worms, puzzles, play doh, kinetic sand, Lego etc just like many children his age, pretend play with his figurines.

Should I get him assessed for speech and language when he still always says ME instead of I? I can tell his speech isn't as good as other children his age and I often think, he'll get there but he's also got a lisp and I have a nagging feeling, it might benefit him to get assessed?

What's your opinion?

If he's got a lisp it's worth getting him some SLT for that alone @gemloving
