i have some concerns for my 21 months ds,.

  • pointing from 11 months( request, ask, share) *waving, clapping, dancing everything on track
  • if he does not found anything then he say ‘Not there’
  • he can talk ( around 50 word)

my concerns:-

  • respond to name is hit and miss( as we call him with multiple names)
  • not yet nooding for yes ( although rarely shaking for no)
  • very hyperactive( always here n there) What do u think.. or a baby pointing from 11 months old for sharing interesting things , can be autistic? Any parents have experience?

If you're in the UK and you are concerned, I'd ask your HV to do an Ages & Stages.

Hello! My LO has some similarities with yours. Can I ask you how he progressed? I know only some months have passed but 4 months at this age is a lot.

@ItalianMUM89 my son is 26 months now. he is speaking in 3/4 word sentences. he boomed just after turned 2. now he is more cleaver than his age toddlers in his play way class. it was just my anxiety.

Thank you so much for the replay! I am happy your kid is developing so well. My LO is also progressing very fast (ca 250words or more and some two/three word combinations) but nodding yes and name response is hit and miss (he knows his name since he refers to himself by name so its more non caring that we call him). I am surrounded by 2year (or more) old toddlers and I confront him constantly but I have to remember that he is just 20 months old and not 24!

@ItalianMUM89 my son started name responding just before 2 nd birthday. before it was miss nd hit.

Thank you. The funny thing is that he knows his name since he is 6-7 months but never constantly responds to it. We have periods of better response and period he does less. The same goes with any instructions or questions. He can answer most questions and follow also more complex instructions (so his receptive language does not really worries me) but will have days were he just couldn't care less about what we say and than days were he is super receptive and collaborative. I don't know if it maturation or so but I would love him to be more consistent.
