My daughter's Birthday is on Mothers Day. Party ideas needed pleeease!!!

Hi, My daughter is 3 on mothers day this year. I wanted to give her a little party at home with just myself,my husband, mother in law and one little friend the same age, and her mum of corse.
I'm having a little party at home as she gets very overwhelmed by big partys and ends up just sat on my knee. I'd like to do somthing special for mothers day and her birthday combined, but not sure how to go about it. My daughter loves tea party's and making cakes etc. I just wanted some ideas to make it special for her and to celibrate motherhood at the same time.
I'd be really greatfull for any ideas (no matter how wacky!)

spend the morning making cakes together and the afternoon eating them

personally I can't think of a better way to 'celebrate motherhood' (unless gin is involved)

Sounds great to me! I'll save the gin for when they've all gon home.

If you are inviting a friend, if her mother has other children, you could consider having the party the day before.

No, this little girl is an only child, like Lucy. I think that's why they get on so well.

Agree that a traditional tea party is a fabulous idea. Tiny sandwiches (crusts off), fairy cakes/birthday cake, mini choc eclairs (bought of course), mini sausage rolls or similar and plenty of tea and maybe "posh" fruit cocktails. I might even suggest dressing up for the occasion, your dd and friend may like the idea of wearing a hat.

Don't forget the white paper doilies for on the plates - Asda used to have them.

Oooooh, yes - a proper little Tea party

Little sandwiches, mini cups of tea / juice, home-made cakes ..... You could find some chequered material from a cheap material warehouse place and make a traditional picnic rug - If it is nice weather, you could do the tea party in the garden - If it is not so nice, you could spread the material on the living room floor.

Ah yes, the girls would love that (being propper little ladies). Well for the afternoon at least!

Might be a bit of an ask, but could dh play butler for the afternoon. Serving the tea etc - just for added effect!

Oh yes, I'm sure he would. He loves a laugh. I think Lucy could get quite used to that though!

LOVE the butler idea - you should get a "uniform"!!

I think he may draw the line at that, but I could try!
