11mths - crawls but leaves 1 leg in front, bent inwards!

My 11month DS has started to crawl for 2 weeks now, which is great, but he seems to be doing it weirdly.

He moves across the room pretty quickly, but 1 leg is behind and the other leg is in front and bent inwards as if he is sitting cross legged.

Should I be worried? If so, what should I try?

He can stand on his 2 feet whilst holding on to my finger, and he can pull himself up to stand against cot from lying down.

Hey! Don't worry, my daughter did this too, such a funny way to crawl! We have wooden floor and I was/ am convinced that being on knees must be very uncomfortable so it was half crawl/ half bum shuffle. After a few months she went to "normal" crawling but now she's slowly starting to walk (14 months) she's slightly reverted as again I think she finds it uncomfortable unless she's in a hurry..... I didn't do anything, they figure it out and sounds like he's bearing weight just fine x

Is he still doing it @weallhavedreams8 or has he figured it out now? Wink

Thanks. That's a relief to know

@weallhavedreams8
my daughter is just turning 11 months and doing exactly the same. Well done for coming up with a suitable description of this non-standard form of crawling, as I didn’t know how to describe it….until I read your post and went….👍. I’m not worrying about it. I’m too busy worrying about every time I need to leave the room (briefly) and what she’s going to get up to in my absence!
