8 Month Old won't take water or formula

Hello,

My 8 month old has been exclusively breastfed, we've been trying since he was 6 months on water and formula. But no matter what we put the drinks in he will mess around and spit it out.

I can't think what else to try, I'll be going back to work in a few months and want to try and get him ready for when I'm not around. If anyone has experienced this and has any techniques I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi I have the same issue have you tried a sippy cup or flavouring it with something else?

How old will they be when you return to work? To be honest I would t bother trying to introduce formula or bottles now unless you are keen to stop BFing before work resumes.

I went back with DC2 at 9 months and she was fine without a BF whist I was at work.

Hey, I've tried literally every drinking apparatus I can think of! And alas

I'll be returning to work at 12 months of age, I'm not too bothered about introducing formula it's more him still being able to have breastmilk when I'm not around and water.

I've not been away from him for more than 2 hours so I want to slowly start having longer periods away from him for both of our benefits for when I go back to work 🙃

The same issue was faced three years back. But at the age of 2, he changed to fluids.
