bit of a backstory…
My daughter was exclusively breastfed till 18 months at which point I introduced a bottle as she’s quite tiny and I wanted to make sure she was still having enough milk.
As well as this, my husband started giving her the dummy at night around 16 months old, as she was taking a while to het to sleep (previously she had only had a dummy in the car as she hated her car seat).
I think these two things have actually made her more unsettled in the long run as she now wakes up multiple times in the night wanting her dummy/bottle and even cries for one or the other randomly during the day.
I definitely think the dummy stops her from falling into a deep sleep at night as she’s actively suckling on it. And in turn she’s cranky during the day cause she hasn’t had enough sleep.
We’ve been house sitting for my parents and been on holiday recently so she’s been quite out of routine. I’m thinking to go cold turkey on the dummy and just letting her cry once we’re home.
thoughts?
