Please help. My daughter (10yo) has gradually stopped wearing anything except her knickers on her bottom. She refuses even to discuss it. I was advised to expolore different materials and textures with her but we haven't even got to the discussion point as she rejects even the idea of discussing it by saying: "stop, you are making me upset." She has other issues like irritability, oversensitivity which we addressed to a school psychologist and they are being dealt with. Hopefully with support from us and her friends as well she looks less stressed. But certain things like refusing clothes are clearly getting worse. I make her wear tights to school because it's +2 outside, but she would pull them down to almost her knee level and wear them like that under her skirt. I can't imagine it being more uncomfortable to wear them like that as opposed to wearing them normally! But she refuses even to discuss it. It's been going on for quite a long time now and is getting worse. I can't imagine what could be the reason. I would love to take her to a shop and choose clothes she would love but even discussing this makes her hysterical. She hasn't been diagnosed with any developmental problems. The only thing that is not normal is that she wouldn't hold the pen properly and rather hold it with the little finger and the thumb which is very unusual but again since 4yo she refused holding it differently so we just let her be. Can she be autistic? What shall I do? Would refering her via. GP help? The school psychologist said she couldn't duscuss anything with me due to privacy policy. I feel totally helpless.
