Hello,

So my little boy is 17 months and he has always being a sensitive soul and very attached to me as his mother.

Recently we wanted to try two mornings at nursery a week, one so I could have some time to do work for a new business I'm starting and two to hopefully build his confidence with other kids.

We are struggling.

When we are in unfamiliar situations he gets beside himself - examples of this are childcare setting, hospitals, doctors etc.

We viewed a nursery and he cried the whole viewing...

Today we tried our first settling session, again he cried the whole time. Managed to calm him to play with a toy for a moment but I couldn't leave or pop out and now the nursery have suggested up to a months worth of settling because of how anxious he is.

Any tips? Is this too soon? Do I persevere?

I couldn't even put him down today!

Is this normal? As when I asked the nursery if it was she said it's normal but she hasn't seen a kids this upset for a while
