I know its likely totally normal development, but just wondered if anyone else's DC progressed to walking in this way (it's totally different to how my eldest began walking!).
DS just turned 15months. For the past month he's been able to stand independently from sitting (i.e., in middle of room and can hold it for ages), can hold a squat and stand from squat and has been cruising since 11months. He crawls. He took his first wobbly steps about 3 weeks ago, and I was convinced it would be the start of walking, but he barely takes any steps and isn't really 'getting it'. He will take about 3-4 steps and fall down (or drop himself down into a squat!) and he'll do these steps maybe once or twice a day. He doesn't really bother often and its like his auto response is 'I want to be over there, crawling is how I get there'.
I really expected to see some more progress in 3 weeks tbh. Whilst the rational part of me knows walking is totally varied from baby to baby and its not an issue until he's 18m+..... but the irrational side is a bit concerned about lack of progress. I'd almost be less worried if he wasn't taking any steps at all!
Anyone else experienced this? Anyone know of tricks to get his confidence up?
