When did your kids say Mama/Dada with meaning?

DD has just turned 12 months and she can say the sounds mama and dada but not specifically at us IYSWIM.

My book says by 12 months she should be using them and know what they mean now.

I'm not too worried, she can say dog (points at our dog), bye (complete with very cute wave) and baba at her doll so she is picking stuff up, just wondering when other little ones started using mama etc properly?

Thanks!

Around 15 months! Don't worry.
She would point when asked to different family members but called us both Dada and Daadaa for months before saying ‘Mama’ with meaning

I'm just bumping this as my DD is now 13.5 months and still doesn't use mama discriminatory to mean me and I'm worried!

She has added a few words to her vocabulary since my last post such as nana for banana (defo a word as she points at the fruit bowl and is delighted when she gets one!), some animal sounds (baa when she sees a sheep, moo for cow, clicking for horse etc) and can point to her head when asked. But still no mama with meaning. Is this ok??

My daughter didn’t say mummy with meaning until 17 months, she was using plenty of other words and gestures and was saying daddy by about 14 months. No idea why it took so long but I have no concerns about our relationship or her development. Just one of they things!

18 months for my second born . He started saying daddy with purpose a couple months before that.

My first born didn’t call me mommy ( skipped mama) until he was nearly two. Never mind that he knew and said all three of our cats names 😆!
