The past week my 10 week old kept having moro reflex most of the time it happens when is it about to drift off to sleep. But it has happened during diaper changes and when he was laying flat on his back for some picture. He has done it 3 times in a row a few times but usually it’s only once and his all ok. It usually doesn’t happen when he is being held and he stops when I pick him up. I read that if it stops when you hold him it not anything serious. Sometimes he cries sometimes he doesn’t. He rises both hands and has a freak out look on his face. I feel so bad but now I’m scared it’s something more??
I talked to my mom about it and she says that’s normal baby reaction and that’s why they swaddle babies. But I’m still worried, any of your babies did this in a row.

What's happening exactly when you lay him down? It's not the shock of going onto a cool change mat is it?

he doesn’t do it immediately, he does have a milk protein intolerance so maybe it’s his stomach bothering him.

Really normal to happen when falling asleep, both my boys have done this. I guess you might be worrying about infantile spasms - keep an eye on the frequency of course and whether it’s happening many times in quick succession. Always run past a doctor if you’re concerned or if any loss of skills x
