Hiya!
i wrote a post here around 6 months ago when my daughter was getting so frustrated and wanted to be held stood up all the time. That luckily was resolved when she could crawl.
Now, she is 1 year old and started nursery. The workers have told me that she needs to try and start independently playing as she constantly has to sit on one of their laps or having to carry her which isn’t possible at all times with a ratio of 1:3.
Since they have pointed this out, I have realised she sits on my lap constantly or needs to be held. She crawls for a bit and plays with her ride on or toy chair but otherwise is on my lap with my sat on the floor.
Does this sound normal? How do I encourage independent play? If I sit her even near me but not on me she cries and throws her weight around.
It may be normal, but my friends children seem to be able to play on their own for a little while at least. She has SO many toys so it’s not like she’s under stimulated or bored.
Thanks in advance :-)
