How can I manage sibling fighting and the youngest getting hurt?

I have an extremely volatile six year old. Complete wind up merchant with the older sibling. They will fight/play in a very ruffty, tuffty way that will invariably see the youngest getting hurt. I’m always there, I’m telling them to stop. I’m assertive, I give consequences and yet it continues. They won’t separate from each other for any length of time. The eldest also refuses to be put into holiday club as a way to separate them.

I have managed to find a suitable holiday club for the youngest next week so at least then they’ll be apart. I just don’t know what else to do. It’s getting really dangerous and yet I’m stumped.

Sorry I missed your first thread @RudsyFarmer , shame you didn't get any responses.

My six year old is so similar - complete wind up merchant with his sibling and DH and I.

What strategies do you use for your 6 year old? I hope the holiday club gave you a break.
